2024 Cowboy Action Shooting

Students will spend:
- Monday in a Handgun safety and familiarity NRA class taught by a licensed NRA instructor and will receive credit for the class from the NRA. Everyday student will spend time dry firing Cowboy Guns. Lunch at Brook Hill.
- Tuesday will feature a class taught by a former Marine and will focus on rifle and shotgun safety and use. (Not an NRA class) Everyday students will spend time dry firing Cowboy Guns. Lunch at Brook Hill.
- Wednesday will be a range day at an area range to do the shooting portion of the Handgun and Rifle/Shotgun classes and will have the students eating out. (Students will be responsible for lunch. It is suggested that each student bring $10 for lunch)
- Thursday the students will go to a Cowboy Action range and shoot a 3 to 5 stage, timed competition and will eat lunch out. (Students will be responsible for lunch. It is suggested that each student bring $10 for lunch)
- Friday students will go to another Cowboy Action range and shoot another 3 to 5 stage competition. Lunch out (Students will be responsible for lunch. It is suggested that each student bring $10 for lunch)
Over the course of the week there will be dry firing each day. At the ranges, every student will fire approximately 125 handgun rounds, 125 rifle rounds, and 25 12 gauge shot gun rounds. Students will be certified on handguns through an NRA pistol program. Students will also receive rifle and shot gun safety and marksmanship training. Rifles and pistols are Colt single action army type revolvers, and lever action rifles. Pistols and rifles are chambered in 22 rim fire. Shotguns are double barreled 12 gauges.
Ammo, range time, transportation, gun rentals, holsters, and course materials are included in the cost.
REFUND POLICY- Please note that all payments are non-refundable. In the event a person cannot attend a trip, the trip leader will determine if any refund is possible.
